About us
ClimateInfo – is a community of environmental leaders and a unique source of information about the climate change in Ukrainian language.
Every day, our site publishes several source materials and translated articles on the latest climate change research, inventions, economic trends and environmentally-friendly lifestyle. There are also announcements on thematic events and networking opportunities.
ClimateInfo news available at Facebook, VKontakte та Twitter.
Information Centre on Climate Change "ClimateInfo" was established in 2009 as a result of the British Council project "Challenge Europe. More action - Less carbon", with support of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Goals and objectives of ClimateInfo.
In late 2010 we started a new kind of youth involvement in climate protection activities – ClimateInfo web-volunteering. Participation of volunteers in search and adaptation of relevant info for the site enhances the quality of its content, also allowing young people to gain skills needed for future careers.
In addition to information services, provided through both website and public lectures, ClimateInfo is also implementing practical projects.
ClimateInfo actively participates in the Global climate movement 350.org in Ukraine.
We are organizing large events together involving the community activists who address climate change challenges and improve their managerial skills as climate leaders. On 10 October, 2010, Global Climate Action Day, we initiated 50 simultaneous events in all regions of Ukraine, thus making the event the most supported environmental campaign in Ukraine. This year, about 10 Ukrainian regional branches of the climate protection movement joined the “Earth Hour” global campaign. We keep on our cooperation with local climate change leaders through networking, training and experience sharing.
Our partners include: EcoClub "Green Wave", National Ecological Centre of Ukraine, the NGO Working Group on Climate Change, UN Volunteers, the Delegation of the World Wildlife Fund in Ukraine, the "Let's do it Ukraine!" campaign, Initiative group "People for Animal Rights”, etc.
ClimateInfo and climate movement 350.org are open for cooperation. We welcome your suggestions!
