EkoChashka is an annual international environmental film festival. From 26th May to 5th June, 2011, the EkoChashka festival had a late-spring tour over five Ukrainian cities.

EkoChashka means the always-busy ECO-space.

How many Planets will be needed if everyone consumes natural resources the way you do? The celebration of the 41st anniversary of the Earth Day on 17 April 2011 started off with a definition of “environmental footprint”, the index that compares the human need for natural resources and the renewable ability of the planet.

Courageously, simply and easily, Earth Hour 2011 had demonstrated to the world governments, business organizations and people that actions against global warming is not only necessary but possible, too.

On 26 March Ukrainians also were symbolically turning off the lights and organising themed events.

The "Climate Leadership” training for activists of 350.org movement

Training for the activists of 350.org climate movement took place on 18-20 February 2011.

The training targets young active people who care about climate change and either have the experience of public work in environmental and climate protection segment, or want to get such experience.

On Kyiv’s central Independence Square, the city dwellers unveiled just how far are they willing to go to prevent global climate change. During the event, the participants were pictured with the phrases "I'm ready to sort the garbage, if ..." or "I'm ready to ride a bike, if ..." they’ve written on special plates, to draw attention to the country's leadership to the problems of global climate change.

We must force our politicians to get down to work. This is not just a nice slogan. This is a serious demand. Ukrainians have united for the sake of overcoming the climate change. 50 actions took place in Ukraine, over 7,000 - globally.

Zeleni Svyata - More music, less CO2

The "Zeleni Svyata" (Green Festivals) project aims to develop development of methodology for estimation and reduction greenhouse gases during open-air festivals. The study covered Ukrainian festivals Trypilske Kolo 2010, Jazz Koktebel 2010, Gomolsha Ecotop 2010 and the Earth Day 2011. As a result, the festivals received detailed recommendations on emissions reduction.

Every year on 22 April people across the globe celebrate Earth Day. This day has turned into a universal symbolic celebration of love and concern for our common home. On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day we unrolled an interesting program of social and practical activities throughout Ukraine.
